After spending hours contemplating what to call this blog, I realized the best name had been right in front of me the whole time!
“Barren Fields, Fruitful Gardens” is the projected title of my first work of fiction. And, while BFFG won’t be my first published book, the theme of the book and its title sum up one of my primary goals in writing – seeing fruit spring up where there was once a barren field.
I hope this blog will be a place where not only can you keep up with current and future books and related articles, but where you can find encouragement to grow in the Lord.
I look forward to getting to know you and to sharing from my own life – Don’t be shocked if it includes random references to hiking, laying in the grass in 30° temperatures photographing sunsets, trips to orphanages, prison revivals, blessings from my personal quiet times with the Lord and references to various forms of motor sports…
“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But He that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.” 2 Peter 1:5-9
